SAB was founded in 2012 by five Syrian women as an emergency response to the humanitarian crisis to meet the fundamental needs of Syrian refugees. In 2013, SAB opened a centre in Amman, Jordan that offers programmes for rehabilitation, education, and empowerment.Â
Today, SAB continues to emphasise community development. Education and livelihoods to empower women, youth, and people with disabilities in Jordan, while addressing displacement in northern Syria SAB relies primarily on community donations and volunteer efforts to deliver its projects, which ensures its autonomy and adaptability to meet community needs.
We are established and run by strong Syrian women, breaking the stereotype of what Syrian women are capable of, to help those whose lives have been turned on their heads by the current conflict in Syria. Our work has changed lives and you can too.
